Tzfat Chatzot Yeshiva
The holy Zohar teaches that Hashem (literally translates as “The Name” referring to the name of G-d) Himself joins together with the angels and the souls of tzaddikim to personally listen to Torah that is being studied at Chatzot. Hashem says, “Whatever these men will decree, I will fulfill. Whomever these men bless, I will maintain.”
King David studied Torah at midnight because he understood that then, when light and darkness are intertwined, the Gates of Heaven are flung open to accept our prayers. “Blessed is the portion of those who, at that special time, arise from their sleep to engage in Torah.” It’s an “et ratzon” (an opportune moment / auspicious time), when Hashem’s attribute of mercy rules the world
“Whoever arises at Chatzot, Hashem Himself heeds that person’s prayers, and all his requests and blessings are fulfilled.” ~Zohar
“He who cannot rise at midnight should support one who does rise, and he will have a share in the Torah learning” ~Chatzot Damesek
